Back from France

Thu Aug 25, 2005, 5:18 AM
I probably should have posted when I left for France or something (I suppose I forgot) but I'll post now anyways.

We went for 6 days. Most of the holiday was horrible due to various language barriers and the fact that my mum actually came with us (Have I mentioned how annoying she is? She trully is the most vile person I know....). All mum did was film EVERYTHING, shout loudly for no good reason, stop us from doing anything that seemed even remotely fun, patronise an asylumn seeker, make a scene everywhere we went and praise Stephanie everytime she was rude to passing smokers. Ok, I'll admit I'm exagerating at the moment, but it really was that bad.
France itself was good, my only objections were the fact that the Louvre ony printed in French (museums are supposed to print in atleast six different languages or something) and that everything was sooo expensive (I mean, three euros for a coke is a bit much but ten euros for a hairband is just....evil). Paris is really cool. Everything about it seems to be massive; the roads, the buildings and even the trees were huge. The hotel was nice and cosy (but for some reason they picked up about four German channels, which was odd).
We went to disneyland one day. It was funny because as soon as we got there a guy call Sid whisked us away to look at these Holiday villas owned by Marriots...we got there at one and spent four hours looking around before my parents decided to join Marriots (it's a shame that they chose to show us this whilst on holiday as opposed to before). After that we went back to disneyland and went on a few rides etc. There was this really stupid ride...you know the "It's a Small World" ride...it was practically a singing advertisement for France Telecom (which is stupid because allthe adults on the ride are too busy making sure their children aren't playing with the singing dolls to even notice the ads) and yet both my parents loved it. There was this really cool maze from Alice and Wonderland that had a castle at the end for you to explore in as well (mum hated that maze with a passion).
We saw a lot in Paris. What I regret though, is the fact that we never got a good look at La Deffence. Apparently we went past it once at night and I somehow didn't notice...

You know the sad bit? The one week I go to France is the week Channel 4 decides to put on two new shows!
